You may have seen the reports yesterday. Glen Campbell has announced he is in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease. In an interview with People magazine, Campbell and his wife went into some detail about the illness. Apparently he has suffered from short term memory loss for years, but at this point the diagnosis is official.

Campbell is working on a new album which he says will be his last. It is titled 'Ghost On The Canvas' and is set for an August 30th release. In addition there will be a 'Glen Campbell Goodbye Tour' this fall with dates and cities to be announced soon.

Glen Campbell has had a 50 year career in music, and enjoyed incredible success with indelible songs like 'Wichita Lineman', 'By The Time I Get To Phoenix', 'Rhinestone Cowboy', 'Southern Nights', 'Gentle On My Mind' and more. He was also an in-demand studio guitarist, playing on countless hits through the years. Glenn even had a stint in the Beach Boys taking over Brian Wilson's spot for a while. We will keep you posted as to Texas dates on the upcoming tour.  He is 75 years old.

Glen and his wife indicated they wanted to make the announcement now to avoid any speculation about his personal habits if he gets confused or forgets a lyric while on stage.
