Details are slowly emerging about the new Beach Boys album.  Brian Wilson and Mike Love did a joint interview with the New York Times in which they revealed some very interesting tidbits.   Brian Wilson said that the album would flow continuously from beginning to end: "On the album, one song flows into another and that flows into another like that, until its over, until there's no more album

The historic Matera Paper Company building on South First was a total loss in a fire last night (Sunday, February 20th).  Firefighters fought an intense blaze that sent flames high from the roof of the building.  It is a total loss.  Walls were knocked down due to their instability and danger to traffic along South First.  The building was constructed in 1907.

It was on yesterday's date (February 19th, 1972) that Harry Nilsson scored a Number One hit with his version of 'Without You'. The song was written by Pete Ham and Tom Evans of the group Badfinger, and was on their 1970 album 'No Dice'.

Art Garfunkel is set to release a new retrospective collection that will include his best solo songs, as well as Simon & Garfunkel songs that he sings lead on.  The new collection, titled 'The Singer' is schduled for release on April 10th.

The biggest buzz in pro basketball this season has undoubtedly been Jeremy Lin of the New York Knicks.  As of this writing the Knicks have won seven in a row, and Lin has scored 136 points in his first five starts.  That hasn't happened since the NBA merged with the ABA all the way back in 1976.

Ringo Starr was scheduled to appear at the Grammys on Sunday night, and also at Paul McCartney's ceremony for a star on the Hollywood Wald Of Fame.  But the former Beatle was a no show.

The Beach Boys have announced an extensive string of dates for their 50th anniversary reunion tour, and two of those dates are right here in Texas!

Robin Gibb made a return to the stage Monday night (February 13th, 2012) to a standing ovation.  Gibb, who has been battling colon and liver cancer, joined military singers 'The Sodiers' at a charity concert for injured servicemen in London.  He sang the Bee Gees' 'How Deep Is Your Love' and 'I've Gotta Get A Message To You'.

Foreigner is rolling out tour dates for 2012, and there's one scheduled for Texas.  On April 14th, Foreigner will play the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, in conjunction with the 'Samsung Mobile 500 Weekend'.

The former home of Jackie Gleason in MIami, Florida is going up for auction, along with some of the famous comedian's possessions on February 19th, 2012. Gleason's home features a 9,250 square foot main house along with a guest party house.

The 2012 Grammys had a lot of great performances.  Sometimes a few get overlooked in all the reports about the biggest stars.  But I was very moved by the tribute to Glen Campbell at this year's awards show.  The Band Perry and Blake Shelton did a  fantastic job leading up the Glen taking the stage for 'Rhinestone Cowboy'.

The Beach Boys are expected to announce a string of dates for their 50th anniversary tour tomorrow, February 15th.  In the meantime, they've revealed that they have four news songs ready to go for the forthcoming album set for later this year.
